Haapsalu Railway Station

Overview

Haapsalu big railway station is again waiting for a train from Tallinn. The last time train arrived in Haapsalu was in the year 1996 and the next time will be in 2026! The railway will by then be reconstructed. The train platform is 216 m long! Quite big for a town like Haapsalu. Before the independence of the Estonian Republic, the Russian czar himself was supporting the construction of a railway and platform and the first train came in 1904. At the end of the soviet time, the station building was in bad condition, but fortunately, it was not demolished and now there is also a railway museum.
